If you’re looking to try your hand at macro photography with minimal investment, my suggestion is to try extension tubes or a diopter with your existing lenses. If you find that it’s something that you enjoy and wind up wanting more equipment, they’re things that you can continue to use regardless of your setup.
Regardless of what you decide to go with be sure to do your homework and ask around before pulling the trigger. All of the categories of equipment above have their limitations, and it’ll save you from rude surprises if you can get a sense of what those limitations are before you commit to buying.
