After the Gardener

The gardener comes by on Wednesday afternoons and sends all the bugs flying everywhere with his leaf blower.  It usually means that Wednesdays are pretty crappy shooting days in my yard.  On the bright side, he does water the plants, so I have a chance to photograph water droplets that collect on them (cliché, and done to death, I know).  I was trying to get the flash output dialed in to shoot this flower and I was interrupted by the fellow below.  I have no idea what it is, other than some sort of flying insect.  I didn’t notice until I’d pulled the images from the SD card that its carapace is kinda iridescent.  Kinda cool IMO.  Enjoy!

It was kinda windy in the yard today so I had a little trouble getting things framed the way I wanted.  The first and third images in this series have been cropped to improve their composition.
