Paragus sp.  hoverfly.

rokkor 100mm f/3.5 with 1:1 tube, vivitar 2x macro teleconverter, yn-560 speedlight

I’d been seeing these tiny flies darting around in the yard for months now.  I didn’t know what they were until I saw some posts in the DPReview NEX forums.  They seem to be a popular subject.  They were difficult to photograph, but I can see why people prefer the hoverflies–they’re interesting, without being gross (like blowflies).  The second was cropped into a vertical orientation (thanks for the suggestion Danny).  I really want to get a shot of one of these fellas in flight/hover.
